Just viewed your latest email. It was thrilling to go througg the various Thamizh Velieedugal of the past which took me back to my boyhood days. By the by I recollect the SANGU Siruvar Malar, the very first Thamizh weekly that was being published in Madras in the early 40s costing at the unbelievable rate of ONE THAMBIDI ( 192 THAMBIDIES = Rupee 1-). i often go into yur w.site & i am really impressed with your dedication& love for tamil.-tamils sir, iam a retired teacher from malaysia-- third generation of migrant labour family who made it in life. i am 72 yrs old. after my retirement i , encouraged by my children wrote a book-- our biography- the trials and tribulations of our fore fathers in a foreign land as coolies.i have sent a few books to to be reviewed in india express. infact my book was mentioned in the internatoinal women's confrence in chennai on 8-3-2004.i am not as learned as you are.- but tried my best -to do something for my future generation.in this foreign land. now iam writing the book in tamil. in may this year i am coming to india to get some facts for my tamil book.-for your information though born in malaysia i spent my childhood in india.- in kovai- i am also compiling a book - tamil -nattu padalkal -meeting old peole also migrant workers and getting them tell me what they remember.-they all are a vanishing breed. it is a fantastic experience. sorry sir for taking you precious time away.if care to read please send me you postal addres-so i can send you a few copies. my computer knowledge is zetro--excuse me for any shortocmings. i am sending this mail from my daughter's computer.my e-mail address

Happy to see yr email of l6th. Even when I saw yr REQUEST - I, I was thinking how useful it would be if I only could send u some old Thamizh magazines that I used to have with me when I was in India. Even when living in India I had been a log straying in vast oceans like having had to float around and live in almost all the Indian States for about 40 years for a few years in each state. During this transitary phase in my life I had to shift my family often and in the process I lost my collections, even thosde acquired through my ancestors. When I visit India next, I shall try to retrieve whatever possible from my closest family and send them on to u. Meantime, u may also search through some old libraries and photocopy any old magazines or books. Of course, u might already be doing it. Wish u all the best. God bless u!
